School Life

At Strathearn Prep, we offer a comprehensive academic program designed to empower girls to learn without limits. Our curriculum is carefully crafted to foster a love for learning and encourage critical thinking skills. We believe in providing a nurturing environment where every student can thrive and achieve academic excellence.

Foundation & Key Stage 1

In our Prep 1 - 3 classes, an integrated approach to the curriculum is widely used, with many subjects being taught through the medium of play-based learning.

The bridge between KS1 and KS2 comes in Prep 4, with some subjects becoming more discretely identified and are timetabled as such. â€‹

Key Stage 2

After making progress well ahead of their peers in KS1, from Prep 5 our girls are ready and eager for fresh challenges and new concepts and to try new skills.

As children approach the top of the school, the emphasis shifts towards preparing them for the SEAG test.

Senior School Preparation

As a preparatory school, at our core, we are preparing girls for the next step in their education. Central to this, is our robust and individualised approach to SEAG preparation.

Learning Support

Mrs Walls provides learning support for pupils who need a little extra help in certain aspects of their school work. She works closely with the class teacher to devise a personal learning programme. Where a pupil with a specific learning difficulty is identified, individualised provision is put in place to support her further.

Trips & Extra-Curricular Activities

As well as a variety of learning experiences at school, the girls from Prep 1 - 7 have the opportunity to visit a variety of interesting places and attend workshops with our close neighbour Campbell College Junior School.

Older pupils also have the opportunity to take part in residential trips; Prep 6 to Carlingford and Prep 7 to Amsterdam.
